There are words for how I feel about the fact that a handful of you donated money when picking up my free one page RPG Two Hamsters Enter, but those words are completely unintelligible. The only sensible thing I can come up with is a two word combo.

If we compare my one year earnings for my Dungeons & Dragons module Temps: A Clerical Nightmare with my one week earnings for Two Hamsters Enter, my elation will likely make more sense.

Since the game is free, I see these donations as votes of support for Koala Bear Swamp, and I want to give you a plan for how I intend to spend any money you throw my way.

1. ART: I can't tell you how many times I've replied to an artist's beautiful illustration on Twitter with the comment, "Your art makes me wish I had an art budget." I quietly store the links away on private Discord channels and hope. If I make enough money here, I can commission artists to make art for projects that might not have had art otherwise. In other words, I get to put it back into the community.

2. RESEARCH: I use the term "research" loosely. Basically, it's an excuse to buy other people's games on itch. At one point, I remember having a list of forty some kids games I needed to "research" in order to give me a good idea of the market for developing my own kids skirmishes and RPGs. Well, now I can chip away at that list and maybe follow some other rabbit holes as well. Another opportunity to give back to the community.

3. SUBSISTENCE: According to unofficial estimates, we've been in a recession for at least a full year, and a year that should have been my best ended up putting me in a worse financial situation than I could have possibly imagined. For at least six months, I've been digging myself out of a hole, and there's a chance that any proceeds can just help give me an edge. Or maybe I'll just give it to people who need it more than me!

Wherever this money goes, just know that if you've donated money for this game, you are my hero, and your money will make a huge difference, one way or another.
